What is Codice Fiscale?

Codice Fiscale is the Italian tax number, which stands for "Tax Code". It consists of numbers and letters and has 16 digits. It will be required almost everything you will apply for within the borders of Italy including: residence permit application (we explained here how to apply for one), apartment rentals, GSM operator subscription or gym membership. It can be given as paper document or card.

How to get one?

If you are within the borders of Italy, you can get it from one of the Agenzie delle Entrate (en. Tax Office) in your city. If you are not in Italy, you can contact the Italian Embassy/Consulate to request one.

You can find the closest Agenzie delle Entrate to your location by clicking here.
